Production of indigenized version of Phalanx CIWS progressing well: Iran

TEHRAN – Manufacturing of the indigenized version of the Phalanx, a close-in weapon system (CIWS) on military vessels used for defense against anti-ship missiles, is in good progress, a top commander said.

Speaking to Tasnim on Wednesday, Gholam Reza Biqam, the deputy commander of the Navy, said since the homegrown system is being developed by the Defense Ministry, plans to unveil it will be announced in due time.
