Iran’s Khademalsharieh climbs 11 place in FIDE World Ranking

Iranian International Master and Woman Grandmaster Sarasadat Khademalsharieh has climbed 11 spot to 28 in the latest FIDE World Rankings which published on the last day of the year 2016.

After a decent performance at the Fide Women’s Grand Prix, Khademalsharieh made a great move to 28th spot with the rating of 2452.

The 19-year-old Iranian qualified for the FIDE Women’s Grand Prix 2015-16 after winning a qualifying match against Atousa Pourkashiyan in Tehran. Although being the lowest rated player in the field, she finished as the runner up and earned her first Grandmaster norm.

She made a name for herself after winning the Asian U-12 Girls Championship in 2008 and the World U-12 Girls Championship in 2009. In 2014, she finished runner-up in the World Junior Girls Championship.

In the men’s ranking Parham Maghsoodloo is the best Iranian chess player with the rating of 2584, while Ehsan Ghaem Maghami and Pouya Idani are second and third respectively.
