TEHRAN – Hossein Jaberi-Ansari, the Iranian foreign minister's special assistant for political affairs, met with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in Damascus on Monday to discuss the latest developments in Syria.

Jaberi-Ansari briefed the Syrian president on the political efforts undertaken by Iran to help end the war in Syria, discussing the latest developments regarding the situation on the ground, SANA reported.

He also stressed that the aggression waged by the U.S., Britain, and France against Syria was motivated by the victories of the Syrian Army and its allies against terrorists, as these three states were worried about the expansion of victories in new regions.
