April 7, 2019

TEHRAN – The Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) says it has not received any cash for humanitarian aid from other countries for the flood victims in Iran as there are no monetary channel to receive such aid.

“Some organizations and countries voiced their readiness and announced the amount of humanitarian cash aid but due to inhumane sanctions by the United States, there are no channel to send such aid,” the IRCS said in a statement, dolat.ir reported.

It also said sending non-cash aid is possible and some countries did so including Germany, Turkey and Kuwait, but emphasized that U.S. sanctions target channels through which cash aid could be possible.
