* Tehran Philharmonic Orchestra, headed by Sharif Lotfi, will give a concert at Vahdat Hall August 10-11.
* The play Romeo and Juliet by Dr. Ali Rafiei is still on the stage in Vahdat Hall. Some 20,000 people have seen the play ever since its first appearance on the stage some 25 days ago. The top-selling Romeo and Juliet has fetched Rls.300 million for its director.
* The play Antigone, directed by Pari Saberi, will be staged in Vahdat Hall on August 22. The play was recently staged in Rome and received wide acclaim from the Italians.
* Iran's House of Photographers affiliated to the Art Bureau of the Islamic Propagation Organization is holding the 50th round of its photo exhibitions. Some 110 photos by Iranian photographers are on display in this exhibition.
* On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Hazrat Zeinab (SA), the library of Dr. Shahidi is holding an article-writing contest entitled "Role of Hazrat Zeinab (SA) in Formation of the History of Islam and Keeping Alive the Event of Ashura".
The library is located in Narmak St.
* The secretariat of Fajr Music Festival (Youth Section) is going to select young musicians to participate in the competition section of the Youth Music Festival. According to the Public Relations Office of the Music Center, those interested to take part in the competition can contact the secretariat of the festival and fill out the participation form by August 16.
* Bangladesh Association of Persian Language held its second biennial seminar on the Persian language.
The seminar was attended by a large number of Bangladeshi scientific and cultural figures and representatives of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Dhaka.
