In a recent joint meeting between media delegations from Iran and Iraq in Baghdad, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to defending the Palestinian nation until ultimate victory. It was agreed that a significant campaign to support Palestine would be launched in the near future.

Farshad Mehdipour, deputy press secretary of the Minister of Guidance, led the Iranian media delegation to Baghdad where they met with the Iraqi Communications and Media Commission delegation headed by Ali Al-Muayad. Discussions centered on enhancing bilateral media cooperation, managing content production, combating fake news, establishing a joint think tank, and increasing global coverage of the Arba'een pilgrimage.

Mehdipour proposed convening a large gathering in Iraq with participation from pro-Palestinian media activists. Al-Muayad underscored the importance of expanding Iran-Iraq media relations and highlighted Palestine as a crucial issue.

He emphasized that references to "Israel" in Iraqi media are prohibited, with terms like "Zionist regime" or "usurping Zionist regime" being used instead.

Al-Muayad also mentioned that Iraqi students across universities held demonstrations in solidarity with pro-Palestinian students in the U.S. The Iraqi government's unwavering support for the Palestinian cause was evident at international forums and negotiations with world leaders.

Looking ahead to an upcoming conference of Arab countries in the United Arab Emirates, Al-Muayad expressed plans to transform it into a major campaign advocating for Palestinian rights.

The Iranian delegation also met with Nassif Al-Khattabi, governor of Karbala, discussing shared cultural heritage and emphasizing the importance of countering negative narratives propagated by external media sources.

Al-Khattabi echoed sentiments about combating cultural attacks and fostering unity between Iran and Iraq amidst ongoing challenges.

He stressed the significance of collaboration and media partnerships, highlighting the Arba'een pilgrimage as a powerful tool against adversarial influences.
