‘You foiled enemies’ plots:’ Iranian officials laud people’s rallies
TEHRAN – Following nationwide demonstrations on Monday condemning the recent violent acts and terrorist attacks across the country and supporting the Islamic Republic, officials sent messages of gratitude thanking the Iranian people for their participation.
In his written statement, President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized that the nation gave a firm response to the vicious plots by the enemy.
“The magnificent turnout of Iranians in the nationwide rally shows the determination of the nation in safeguarding their country and defusing the plots hatched by the enemies,” Pezeshkian wrote.
The president also offered his condolences to the bereaved families of martyrs and those hurt in the recent unrest.
Parliament Speaker Mohammad-Baqer Qalibaf also reacted during a parliament session, saying he appreciates the rallies held across Iran, and that the Iranian people have succeeded in foiling the plots hatched by enemies.
“Day 22 [January 12] is the day when the Iranian people demonstrated their support for the Islamic Republic and terminated the intervention of foreign spy agencies in Iran’s internal affairs despite their fair criticism,” Qalibaf said.
He further said that Iranian authorities are committed to addressing economic problems and livelihood requirements of the great nation; therefore, officials will use everything at their disposal to meet people’s demands.
Other current and former officials also declared their appreciation to Iranian people’s support of the Islamic Republic, such as Judiciary Chief Gholamhossein Mohseni-Ejei, Chairman of the Expediency Council Ayatollah Sadegh Amoli-Larijani, and former President Hojjatoleslam Hassan Rouhani.
