TEHRAN – China said on Tuesday it opposes the U.S. President Donald Trump’s statement regarding the declaration of tariffs on countries trading with Iran.

Trump said Tuesday that any country engaging in trade with Iran will be subject to a 25% tariff.

The U.S. president has made hostile interventionist remarks regarding the recent riots and terrorist attacks in Iran. Iranian officials have reacted firmly to him and condemned his belligerent statements.

China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated on Monday that Beijing opposes intervention in the internal affairs of other countries and the use of force, adding that they believe “Tehran will overcome its difficulties and maintain stability.”
