TEHRAN The Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hamidreza Assefi, speaking to the TEHRAN TIMES yesterday, denied reports on President Mohammad Khatami's dissatisfaction with the Foreign Ministry.
There were reports that the president has never assigned Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi responsibility to hand over his written messages to foreign heads of state because the president is dissatisfied with the Foreign Ministry.
They said, "Instead, Abtahi, the head of the Presidential Office, usually visits foreign countries to deliver the president's written messages to heads of state."
However, Assefi told the TEHRAN TIMES that the president's written messages should not necessarily be handed over to his counterparts by the foreign minister.
He also denied the report that the president is not satisfied with the Foreign Ministry.
