"Commemoration of the Imam", Masnavi-Reading Gatherings Held in Moscow, New Delhi

TEHRAN On the occasion of the 12th demise anniversary of the Founder of the Islamic Revolution, the late Imam Khomeini, an exhibition entitled "Commemoration of the Imam" opened in Moscow, said the Public Relations Department of the Islamic Culture and Communications Organization.

The exhibition displays books, photos and CDs about Imam Khomeini.

In addition to written works of Imam Khomeini, and works of other renowned authors about the Imam, photos about the political, social and private life of the Imam have been put on display.

Most of the books presented in the exhibition are in Persian, Russian, English, Arabic, Chinese, Urdu, and Turkish. Several, videotapes including speeches and a biography of Imam Khomeini, the Imam's last will and testament, the Imam's letter to Gorbachev, as well as films of the Imam's funeral are also being presented in this exhibition.

The week-long exhibition is being held at Iran's Cultural Center in Moscow.

Meanwhile, according to another report from the Islamic Culture and Communications Organization, the monthly gathering for reading the book the Masnavi (Couplets) by the celebrated Iranian poet Molavi Roumi was held in the city of New Delhi, India. A large number of people who appreciate the Persian language, university professors and students of the Persian language participated in the meeting and exchanged views on one of the legendary stories of the Masnavi.

Meanwhile, Akhtar Mehdi, a well-known Indian cultural figure, delivered a speech in English on the subjects set forth in the meeting.

The meeting was held in the library of Iran's Cultural Center in New Delhi.

The director of the Persian Language Research Center affiliated to Iran's Cultural Center in New Delhi briefed the audience on the poetry of the Masnavi.
