TEHRAN -- Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Shahroudi, in a meeting with the heads of Tehran municipalities said that the Tehran mayor should put forth his problems with the judicial officials, including heads of Administrative Tribunal and Tehran Justice Department, in order to determine methods to solve these problems.

He added that officials should perform their duties in the best possible manner and do not fear any problem facing them.

Placing emphasis on reinforcement of municipalities and eradication of deficiencies and weak points of the organization, the judiciary chief noted that most of the existing discrepancies and tensions in the judicial system stem from opposition to strong performance of the Tehran mayor.

The Municipality should learn from the experiences of other developed Countries, he added.

Shahroudi stressed the special role of mayors, adding the challenges now facing the Tehran Municipality cannot be resolved merely by changing the managers. Good and reasonable planning is required, he said.

In the meeting two Municipality officials presented reports on the city budget and other related problems of the Municipality and appealed to the Judiciary chief to solve their problems through judicial process.
