TEHRAN (Mehr News Agency) -- Iranian Ministry of Oil will finance production of four feature-length films for a year, whose major theme is oil, the Cultural Center of the ministry announced on Monday.

The ministry has made the decision based on an agreement with the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance.

According to the agreement, the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance will also collaborate with the Ministry of Oil in the fields of cultural exhibitions, information dissemination, and artistic activities.

Two ministries plan to hold the First Oil International Film Festival from December 15-18 in Ahwaz and Abadan, two cities in southern Iran.

This festival aims to recognize and promote outstanding films and documentaries related to oil in general. At the same time, the organizers intend to encourage filmmakers to use the resources of this industry to present new ideas and innovative forms.
