VIENNA (IRNA) -- International Affairs Deputy of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Javad Vaeidi said here Friday that Iran's talks with the European Union three of Britain, Germany and France had led to the clarification of the two sides' viewpoints for one another.

Speaking to Iranian reporters after the 90th minute talks with the EU, Vaeedi added, "A constructive atmosphere reigned over the Friday talks that were held based on an initiative by the Iranian side, in which Iran and Europe agreed on some points, although there were disagreements as well."

The negotiators included the Secretary General of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Larijani, German Foreign Minister Frank Walter Stein Miller, French Foreign Minister Philippe Douste Blazy, European Foreign Policy Chief Javier Solana and a representative of the British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw.

The SNSC official added, "During this round of talks, the two sides reached the required agreements on the need for solving Iran's nuclear case at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)."
