Baghdad says Ahmadinejad’s visit to Iraq will be ‘historic’ since it marks the first visit by an Iranian president to the country.

“Tehran has not yet announced a date for the visit by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to Iraq, but it has welcome the invitation extended by Iraqi President Jalal Talabani,” Iraqi Government Spokesman Ali al-Dabbagh told Voices of Iraq.
Al-Dabbagh added that the next round of Iran-U.S. talks on Iraq’s security will start as soon as Tehran sets a date.
“Baghdad and Washington officials are looking forward to the finalization of a date for a new round of Iran-U.S.-Iraq talks,” the Iraqi official concluded.
