3 billion acetaminophen pills used by Iranians a year

Iranians take 3 billion acetaminophen pills per year, MP Anoushiravan Mohseni-Bandpey of the Majlis Health and Treatment Commission said here on Monday.
According to Mohseni-Bandpey, between 30% and 50% of the country’s 70-million population uses antihistamine, a drug effective against allergies, more than usual as well.Majlis decided to reduce the cost of such drugs in a bid to cut the price of medicines taken for treatment of special or hard-to-treat diseases such as cancer, Mohseni-Bandpey explained.
Referring to the “Year of Improving Consumption Patterns” (the current Iranian year named by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei), the MP called for the betterment of pharmaceuticals consumption to help realize the goals of the year
