“Good Stories” translated into Chinese

TEHRAN -- The Chinese version of Mehdi Azar Yazdi’s “Good Stories for Good Children” was unveiled at the Shanghai 2010 World Fair this week.
The book along with 45 others were translated into Chinese and released by the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization.
A selection of poems from the classic Persian poet Hafez, Sadi, Ferdowsi, Rumi, Khayyam and Rudaki as well as contemporary poet Qeisar Aminpur were among the books released.
Shanghai 2010 World Fair is currently underway in China and will run until October 31.
Beirut scholars to discuss Khayyam poetry
TEHRAN -- Iran’s cultural attaché’s office in Beirut will hold a seminar on the Persian poet and intellectual Khayyam on July 23.
Entitled “Khayyam, Global Poet and Intellectual”, the conference will be attended by several Iranian and Lebanese literati.
They will discuss different aspects of Khayyam’s life and works during the meeting in which audiences can ask questions after presentations.
Indian contest honors Iranian cartoonist
TEHRAN -- Iranian cartoonist Shahram Rezai won the third prize at the 2nd P.C. Rath Memorial International Web Cartoon Contest held in Bolangir, India.
The contest is held “in remembrance of the Eminent Indian Historian, P.C. Rath” as is mentioned on the contest’s website on the theme of humanity.
The selected works are currently on display at the www.aswiniabani.com.
Iranian festival awards artwork on Freedom Flotilla
TEHRAN -- Three artists were awarded special prizes for their artwork on the Gaza-bound Freedom Flotilla at the International Festival of Visual Arts for Young Artists on Thursday.
Farzaneh Vazirtabar, Meymanat Shahini and Emadeddin Abadin were awarded with a special prize from Iran’s Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO).
The 17th edition of the festival opened Tuesday in Iran’s northeastern city of Gorgan..
