Andrea Pirlo will have to accept a place on the bench and a less lucrative deal than the €12 million contract that is being offered by Juventus if he chooses to stay with AC Milan, Goal.com can reveal.

The 31-year-old Italy star heads the Bianconeri's list of targets this summer but has revealed a preference to stay at San Siro.
However, a Milan source has told Goal.com that the Scudetto winners are not prepared to match the €4m-per-season, three-year deal on offer from Juventus, whilst coach Massimiliano Allegri does not see the World Cup winner as integral to his first team plans.
Pirlo is set for crunch talks with Milan transfer chief Adriano Galliani in a fortnight and will decide his future from there.
""The Rossoneri will not do the impossible to keep him by matching the offer. They may offer him a long deal, perhaps two or three years, but they will not offer what Juventus are prepared to offer him,"" a Milan source told Goal.com.
""Pirlo will have a meeting with Milan and Adriano Galliani in two weeks and he will attempt to negotiate a new deal with Milan. They are his priority.
""He wants to remain at Milan, but if Juventus offer him a long and lucrative contract then it is very likely he will leave.""
With major rebuilding on the horizon at Juventus, the club are willing to pull out all the stops to get their man and build their midfield around him.
""Juventus are willing to offer up to €4m-a-year for three years. They would be able to offer him regular action. Whereas at Milan, Pirlo wants to start, but this may not be guaranteed,"" the source said.
""If he leaves Milan then Juventus are the first option for sure. Of course things now depend on the outcome of his meeting with Milan.""
Despite Milan's Scudetto success, Pirlo has endured a disappointing, injury-hit season, starting only 12 league games and losing his place in the side to January signing Mark van Bommel.
The source added that Pirlo's desire for regular first team action could affect his decision: ""Pirlo also wants guarantees that he will play, but Allegri has often dropped him this season. Allegri has built a team which has not included plans for Pirlo.
The former Inter playmaker today told Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera that he fears his time at the club could be at an end.
When asked what he felt his chances of staying at the club were, Pirlo said: ""50/50. It is not true that I have signed with Juventus. If I had already signed with Juventus why would I go to talk to Milan?""
Pirlo also praised the support he has received from the supporters during his decade at Milan and appeared to say goodbye: ""The fans have been fantastic for 10 years and I hope there may be others. But if things do not go this way, always know that I will be happy for what it was and for all that we won. And maybe I'd like that one day we could meet again.""
Goal.com also understands that reports of interest from Premier League clubs are wide of the mark, with the player himself also keen to stay in Italy.
