TEHRAN - The Friday prayer leader of Tehran has said elections will guarantee religious democracy and the existence of the Islamic Republic system.

Calling elections an opportunity, Kazem Seddiqi said elections have been held in Iran since the Islamic Revolution in 1979 and have always been progressive, the YJC reported.

The participation of people in elections notifies the system’s reputation as well as culture, progress, and civilization, he said.

He went on to say that the Majlis and Assembly of Experts should be empty of people who undermine the system.
