TEHRAN – A top principlist says the Islamic Revolution Resistance Front (IRRF) has only one-month to decide to form a coalition with the United Front of Principlists in the run-up to the March 2 parliamentary elections. 

 

“The friends in the Resistance Front have to decide in the one month left,” Manouchehr Mottaki, the UFP executive secretary, told the Mehr News Agency.  

 

However, Mottaki said the UFP will “respect whatever decision they take.” 

 

Mottaki, a former foreign minister, said the UFP will release the final list of its candidates next week.

 

The IRRF is a splinter principlist group mainly formed of figures who served in Ahmadinejad’s first administration. It maintains that other groups purporting to be principlists are not “true principlists”.
