TEHRAN – Ayatollah Ramezani, head of the Islamic Center of Hamburg, will soon return to Iran as his eight-year mission has come to an end, ILNA reported on Monday.

Ayatollah Ramezani, a former Friday prayer leader of Karaj, is a member of the Assembly of Experts.

Hojatoleslam Torabi, the head of Hamburg seminary, said Ayatollah Ramezani must be considered among few Shia clerics who wrote a letter to the Pope and received a response.

Ramezani, 60, opened a new door for interfaith interactions, especially between Islam and Christianity, Torabi added.
