Iran's First Female District Governor Appointed

TEHRAN Minister of the Interior Abdolvahed Mousavi Lari has appointed the first female District Governor in the country, unprecedented in the 22-year post revolution era, the public relations department of the Ministry of the Interior announced here Saturday.
On the recommendation of the governor-general of the southern province of Fars, the minister of the interior has appointed Ms. Rahmat Rohani Sarvestani as the governor of Sarvestan district, near the provincial capital of Shiraz.
