Over 48m tons of iron ore pellet produced in 9 months
TEHRAN- Iran produced 48.097 million tons of iron ore pellet in the first nine months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21-December 21, 2025), Iranian Steel Producers Association (ISPA) reported.
The ISPA report shows that the production of iron ore pellet in the country rose 2.3 percent in the nine-month period of this year, as compared to the same period of time in the previous year.
As reported, the country had produced 49.195 million tons of iron ore pellet in the first nine months of the past year.
As previously reported by ISPA, Iran’s value of iron ore pellet export stood at $918 million in the past Iranian calendar year 1403 (ended on March 20, 2025).
SPA announced that the figure shows a 16-percent annual drop, as the country had exported $1.096 billion of iron ore pellet in the year 1402.
Pellets are a processed form of iron ore utilized in the steel industry, specifically designed for direct application in blast furnaces or direct reduction plants. These pellets are spherical in shape, with diameters ranging from 8 to 18 millimeters.
