Qatar says any move to destabilize Iran will have serious regional repercussions
TEHRAN - Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) secretary held phone talks on Tuesday night with Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani and Iraqi National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji about the latest developments in the region.
The phone calls took place on the heels of the peaceful protests in Iran that turned violent under the instigation of Israel and the U.S.
Larijani and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman shared views about bilateral ties and developments in Iran.
“Cooperation between the two countries (Iran and Qatar) lays the ground for durable stability and security in the region,” Larijani told the Qatari official.
The Qatari prime minister also pointed to the long-lasting ties between Iran and his country and said, “We are seeking an improvement of brotherly ties with Iran. We have been on the side of each other on difficult regional issues.”
Mohammed bin Abdulrahman also said Doha believes “any destabilization efforts in Iran will have serious repercussion for the region.”
The Reuters news agency has quoted a senior Iranian official as saying that the Islamic Republic will launch strikes on all U.S. military bases in the region if the Pentagon takes a military action against Iran.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the regional Persian Gulf Arab countries, including Saudi Arabia and Qatar, have also reminded the U.S. that any military adventure against Iran will affect all regional countries and a rise in oil prices.
In his newest provocative remarks against Iran on Tuesday, Trump wrote on Truth Social: “Iranian Patriots, KEEP PROTESTING — TAKE OVER YOUR INSTITUTIONS!!! … HELP IS ON ITS WAY.”
Iraq buoyed by Iran’s success to restore order and security
The Iraqi national security advisor also insisted on the implementation of security agreement between Tehran and Baghdad.
Qasim al-Araji also expressed joy over Iran’s success for restoring security and order in the streets following two weeks of protests.
“I thank God that brought this victory for the Iranian nation. The enemies don’t know that when they target the Iranian nation they unitedly stand with each other and present a beautiful image of themselves.”
He also said the courses adopted by Iran and Iraq are the same.
