TEHRAN Snow began to fall on the Karaj-Chalous Highway yesterday, reaching 50 centimeters by 5 p.m., Central News Bureau (CNB) reported.
The official in charge of the local Roads and Transportation Department, Mr. Kalhor, told CNB that officials of the department brought heavy machines and spread salt on the road, adding that the highway is now open and cars are riding on the road.
Kalhor called on people to use winter safety tires for traveling in these areas.
