Justice Department Rejects Connection Between Mohajerani's Resignation and His Case

TEHRAN The Justice Department of Tehran released a statement on Tuesday, rejecting any connection between the acceptance of the resignation of former minister of culture and Islamic guidance Ataollah Mohajerani and the filing of charges against him regarding deposits of Hajj pilgrimage accounts.
The statement said the Justice Department is not aware of the cause of Mohajerani's resignation nor is it entitled to make any comment, adding that the Justice Department will carry out its legal duty irrespective of the resignation.
No verdict has so far been issued regarding Mohajerani's case, the statement concluded.
