BEIJING -- A Chinese mother and daughter were arrested in a marriage and murder scam that earned them lavish wedding gifts, but led to the murders of four husbands, state press reported Thursday.

Li Huijie and her mother Tian Xuejin were arrested by police in tangyin county central Henan Province for using rat poison to kill the four young men over the last two years, the legal daily said.
