Anti-Drug Campaign Training Course Opens
Ambassadors from Armenia and Georgia as well as representative of the United Nations for drug affairs attended the inaugural ceremony of the one-week course.
Addressing the inaugural session of the course, Director General of the Anti-Drugs Department of Iran's Police, Brigadier Mahdi Abouei said that if the UN wants to be successful in the field of drug campaign, the organization should pave the way for cooperation of all regional governments.
He expressed regret that many drug networks are far much powerful than some regional states.
The Islamic Republic of Iran's police, enjoying 22 years of extensive and relentless struggle against powerful and armed drug trafficking gangs, is ready to provide regional police forces with its precious experiences, he stressed.
Brigadier Abouei further called on the UN to set up more training courses in different regional states.
