TEHRAN (Mehr News Agency) – Iran will review its cooperation with the UN nuclear watchdog and the details of the revision will be made public in future, Foreign Ministry spokesman said on Sunday.

The reviewing of cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is under study by top Iranian officials and details of this cooperation will be announced later, spokesman Hamid-Reza Assefi told a regular press briefing.

The IAEA Board of Governors adopted a resolution without a vote on Friday, sparking an angry walkout from the Iranian delegation who blasted the agency for descending into political dialogue.

The UN body gave Tehran until October 31 to prove it is not running a secret nuclear weapons program.

Assefi said the IAEA has deviated from its professional and technical dealings with the Iranian nuclear program and has entered political games instigated by the U.S. and some Western countries.

The decision by the IAEA proved the Iranian officials were right when they warned that the nuclear agency should not lapse into political games, he said.

The dominant atmosphere in the IAEA meetings was not “natural” so that the resolution was passed without voting since they feared they could not get the necessary votes against Iran, commented the spokesman.

The U.S. and some Western states try to deprive Iran of its legitimate right of a peaceful use of nuclear energy, something which Iran will never ignore, Assefi noted.

The IAEA decision about Iran has cast doubts upon the performance of some international organizations so that the credibility of such organizations has come under question, the foreign ministry official declared.
