TEHRAN(Mehr News Agency) -- Russian translator of the Holy Qur’an is convinced that real translation and interpretation of the Holy Qur’an requires great wisdom and thoughts accompanied by moral commitment. Iman Valiera who was attending the foreign artists meeting at the 11th Qur’an International Exhibition underway at the Institute for Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (IIDCYA) added, “In order to make Russians communicate more with the Qur’an, I tried to make use of different resources including the Cairo Islamic Center and I also attempted not to make my translation an academic one.”

He mentioned that several educated Christians read the Qur’an in translation and realized the deep concept of Islam and converted to Islam.

Valiera added that the Qur’an is mingled with art and that correct and precise interpretation of Qur’anic concepts adds more to the beauty and attraction of this holy book.

A calligrapher from Pakistan, as one of the attendants, said that through a glance at the evolution of calligraphy in the Qur’anic era, it is proved that all lines and words in calligraphy works have a unity in subject matter and the slightest difference in various local cultures.

Another attendant, German artist Peter Mark, also added that Christians and Muslims in Western countries and especially in Germany live together, and that cultural events such as Qur’an exhibition help establish close relations and understanding among cultures.

Several foreign artists have put on display their art works with the central theme of the Holy Qur’an and Qura’nic concepts at the exhibition underway throughout the holy month of Ramadan on Hejab St.
