Iran plays a big role in promoting Muslims' status: envoy

TEHRAN (FNA) -- Nigerian ambassador to Tehran praised Iran's giant and valuable role in strengthening and promoting the status of the world Muslims.
According to a statement released by the Foreign Ministry's Information and Press Bureau, Nigeria's outgoing ambassador to the Islamic Republic made the remarks in a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Manuchehr Mottaki here on Wednesday. During the meeting, Mottaki noted the two nations' abundant commonalities, and pointing to Iran's 100-year-long experience in the oil industries, said that Iran and Nigeria enjoy remarkable cooperation potentials in such different sectors as oil, gas, auto manufacturing and technical and engineering services. The Nigerian envoy, for his part, described Iran as a vast Islamic land, and lauded Iran's role in reinvigorating Muslims' stand in the world. To end his remarks, the diplomat pointed to his unforgettable reminiscences of his life in Tehran, and appreciated the Iranian bodies' cooperation
