TEHRAN (IRNA) -- Iran has presented a 14-article comprehensive plan to settle ongoing problems in Iraq, Foreign Minister Manuchehr Mottaki said on Sunday.

The plan, which covers security, political and economic issues in Iraq, is intended to help establish stability and security in the country and the region in cooperation with regional countries and international circles, Mottaki told IRIB.
He stated that distribution of national income, withdrawal of foreign forces, disposition of prisoners and internal borders are among the main issues addressed by the plan.
He noted that support by the neighbors of Iraq for Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki and the re-opening of their embassies in Baghdad would strengthen the democratic government.
""Iran's plan is based on realities and Iraq's Constitution. Iran never interferes in that country's internal affairs,"" Mottaki said.
The minister noted that Iran's plan calls on the Iraqi government to present a timetable to the United Nations for the withdrawal of alien states from Iraq.
The Iraqi government has said that the U.S. had made another request to hold talks with Iran on Iraq, Mottaki noted, adding, ""We have also agreed to hold official talks with Washington to resolve the ongoing woes in Iraq.""
