Iran’s petrochemical products export value hits $1.26b

TEHRAN -- According to a report issued by the Iran Petrochemical Commercial Company (IPCC), the total value of the exported petrochemical products since outset of the current Iranian year (March 20, 2008) amounted to $1.26 billion, PIN reported.
Iran’s total petrochemical product’s export volume during this period reached 1,554,000 tons.24 various kinds of petrochemical products have been exported of which during this period, methanol stood at the first place with a total of 300,000 tons export volume.
The country’s total petrochemical product’s export volume in the Iranian month of Farvardin (March 20- April 19) was about 751,000 tons at an estimated value of about $572 million.
It is predicted that by the end of Iranian calendar year 1387(March 20, 2009) the IPCC’s total sales value will reach $14.5 billion of which about $9 billion is earned from exportation and the rest from domestic sales.
IPCC’s total sales value in the previous Iranian calendar year (March 20, 2007-March 19, 2008) was about $8.3 billion of which about $5.5 million was earned from exportation and the rest from domestic sales.
Methanol, ethylene, propylene, butadiene, LAB and PTA are the major exported petrochemicals.
Propane, butane and dry pyrolysis gasoline are among the major exported byproducts while benzene and paraxylene can be named as the major exported aromatics.
Iran is one of the world’s major producers of urea, ammoniac, methanol and ethylene.
Last year (ended March 19, 2008) Iran’s petrochemical products were mainly exported to countries such as Japan, United Arab Emirates, China, India, South Korea, Italy, Singapore and Taiwan.
