TEHRAN - The City Ground side completed the signing of Iranian international forward Karim Ansarifard.

The 28-year-old forward has joined the club with a wealth of experience having played in Spain, Greece and his native Iran, as well as clocking up 66 caps for his national side and scoring 17 goals.

“I am really so happy and so proud to be part of this club, this historic club, and I think it will be an amazing season for me to try my best here and give 100 per cent in every single game. I cannot wait to start with Nottingham Forest at The City Ground,” he told the club’s website.

“I know English football is one of the top leagues in the whole world, and I know how competitive and how difficult it is. There is lots of competition and it is really tough. I think it will be really hard but I am ready to work hard and try my best in each game,” he added.

Ansarifard scored 17 times for Olympiacos last season before going on to represent Iran at the 2018 World Cup, scoring a late equalizer against Portugal in the group stage.

Both Forest and the Greek giants are owned by Vangelis Marinakis and the 28-year-old is reported to have signed an 18-month deal with the Midlands club.
