TEHRAN The Yugoslavian Deputy Foreign Minister Zoran Novakovic is due to arrive here today on an official visit to explore the avenues of enhancing bilateral relations,' said a top diplomat at the Yugoslavian Embassy here yesterday.
The diplomat, Yugoslavian Charge d'Affaires Dr. Momcild Draskovic, talking to the TEHRAN TIMES said, "My country's delegation will travel to Tehran to revive the bilateral ties between Iran and Yugoslavia." Novakovic's visit is taking place at the invitation of his Iranian counterpart, Deputy Foreign Minister for European and American Affairs Morteza Sarmadi.
"Well, during the talks between the officials of the two countries, a general framework will be set up for relations between the two countries," Dr. Draskovic further said.
"We are fully satisfied with the stances that the Islamic Republic has adopted during the crises faced by Yugoslavia," he added.
The ambassador went on to say, "In a recent interview Yugoslavian Foreign Minister Mr. Zivadin Jovanovic appreciated Iran's support and said Belgrade has no problems in having relations with the Islamic Republic." In conclusion, Dr. Draskovic pointed out, "We are ready to develop our relations with Iran in any field."
