September 10, 2000 - 0:0
TEHRAN Secretary of the Conference on Aerospace Technology, Hossein Shirazi, said here Friday that the state's aerospace doctrine will be enunciated in an effort to guarantee a more powerful presence of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the world's military and non-military aerospace activities.
Addressing the concluding session of a Conference on Aerospace Technology, Shirazi said that the outlines of a doctrine to govern aerospace activities have been formulated by domestic experts and researchers which recognizes the deterrent, assault and peaceful application of aerospace research and activity in the satellite, missile and astronautical fields.
He further added that results of academic and research studies in the past 15 years have been demonstrated in the first-ever conference on aerospace technology which counted Iran among countries equipped with specialized knowledge in the field.
Shirazi said the aerospace doctrine was enunciated in line with the domestic, regional and international needs of the modern world, adding that it could help shape the country's defense system in the field of aerodynamics.
He said that replacing the prevailing air defense system with the locally formulated aerospace doctrine will contribute to making the country invulnerable against the aggression of aliens.
Finally, he expressed his hope the implementation of the doctrine would help create an atmosphere of military deterrence as well as open markets for the sale of advanced aerospace safeguards in the region and other countries of the international community.
The first-ever Conference on Aerospace Technology was sponsored by the Organization of Aerospace Industries, affiliated to the Defense Ministry.
Over 258 academic articles were submitted for deliberation on the sidelines of conference.
In addition, 23 educational workshops were held and 37 exhibition pavilions set up.
