January 2, 2001 - 0:0
TEHRAN University Professor Pirouz Mojtahedzadeh said globalization will enrich the rich and impoverish the poor, and young enlightened students in different parts of the world should analyze it. An expert in international issues, Mojtahedzadeh said that Iranian students should welcome intellectual challenges and engage in critical thinking and discipline of mind so that they can unravel mysteries of the sciences and elevate the level of knowledge at universities, pushing the society toward advancement. "Unfortunately, there is no challenge in the country's intellectual society," the professor said and added that all accept views without question. He said some people think globalization brings new economic order enabling all to grow rich, adding that others hold that globalization will be accompanied by the collapse of socialism and that capitalism should be expanded as a superior system. The Iranian professor said globalization would increase global divisions and pose a big challenge to different political systems in the world.
