Visa Facilities Now Offered at Tabriz Airport

TABRIZ, E. Azarbaijan Province An official from East Azarbaijan Trade Organization Sadeq Najafi said here Sunday that to further facilitate travel for foreign businessman, visas are now issued at Tabriz airport.

He said that the plan has been coordinated with the Foreign Ministry, adding that henceforth foreign businessmen who intend to visit Iran, specially Tabriz, do not have to call at Iranian missions abroad and can receive their visas on arrival at the airport.

IRNA quoted him as saying that flights to other major cities, neighboring countries in particular, will be inaugurated soon.

Meanwhile, with the landing on Thursday of a commercial plane of the Armenian national airlines, air link was established between Tabriz and Armenian city of Yerevan.

The Yerevan-Tabriz and the return flight will operate every Thursday.

At the inauguration ceremony, an Armenian airlines official said the air link between the two cities is an important step in expansion of ties between Iran and Armenia.
