U.S. Police Officers Trained Genoa Riot Police to Crush Protestors

TEHRAN A member of the Italian Riot Police who was involved in crushing anti-globalization demonstrations in Genoa has revealed that the U.S. police officers gave special training to the Italian riot police for this purpose.
During a four-month period, two U.S. police officers gave special training to a 70-member Italian police task force, the Italian policeman, who spoke on condition of anonymity, was quoted as saying by the Italian newspaper ****Liberazione*** on Tuesday.
The Italian policeman also said the two U.S. officers taught the Italian special task force how to use aluminum batons against demonstrators.
During the G8 summit in Genoa, thousands of anti-globalization protestors held demonstrations in the city. During the demonstrations in Genoa, one protestor was killed and several hundreds were injured.
