TEHRAN A special trade zone organization for Iran's shipbuilding and offshore industries will be established with the aim of developing activities in ship building and repair and marine structures industries.

According to Iran's Shipbuilding and Offshore Industries Company, the officials of the Free Trade Zone High Council agreed to establish a special trade zone organization for Iran's shipbuilding and offshore industries on May 15, 1999. First Vice President Hassan Habbibi was notified of the decision on August 4, 2001.

Based on the approved law, from now on, the Iranian Shipbuilding and Offshore Industries Company will be the responsible organization in the region.
