TEHRAN - The second summit of heads of customs of ECO member states will convene (Aug 3 - September 3) in Tehran.

To prepare the agenda and procedures of the second summit, a meeting attended by Mojtaba Arastoo, ECO's secretary general, and Mohsen Karbasiyan, the head of Iran's Customs Department, was held at ECO's Secretariat Office in Tehran.

The deputy secretary-general and the director of the Customs international affairs office were assigned the task of coordinating due actions.

The first summit of the heads of ECO member-states' Customs Departments was held in December 1999 in Istanbul, Turkey, with the participation of representatives from Republic of Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, and the director of the commercial section of the European Economic Commission and a UN official.
