TEHRAN – The CD of Iranian Dastan Music Group was selected as best CD of the year 2003 in France.

Saeid Farajipour, music composer and player of (kamancheh), Hamid Motabassem (tar), Hossein Behrouzinia “oud”, Pejman Haddadi and Behnam Samani are among the musicians of the group, some of whom reside in foreign countries.

Pointing to warm welcome of the Europeans, and Americans and their high interest in Iranian music, Farajipour stated that the potentials and delicacy of Iranian music are the major reasons behind such warm welcome.

The CD comprises several pieces of Iranian traditional music, representing variety of music in ancient Iran.

The group has so far had performances in Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, New York and Chicago.
