TEHRAN -- Majlis Speaker Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel said here on Sunday that non-interference in Iraq’s internal affairs, the withdrawal of occupying forces, and strengthening Iraq’s central government are some of the key elements necessary to resolve Iraq’s problems.

Haddad-Adel made the remarks in a meeting with Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council Chairman Abdul-Aziz al-Hakim.
In the meeting, Haddad-Adel described the Iraq issue as a matter of importance for the Islamic Republic of Iran and the entire Islamic world.
Commenting on the Istanbul meeting of Iraq’s neighboring states and the Iranian action plan, he said, “Through the efforts made inside and outside Iraq, the required stability can be restored throughout the country.”
Hakim also expressed appreciation for Iran’s endeavors to create stability and peace in Iraq and described the current situation in the country as promising.
“With the unique solidarity established among the Shia on the one hand and between the Shia and the Sunni Muslims on the other hand, we are so optimistic that the security situation in Iraq will improve in the coming days,” he added.
He went on to say that terrorist operations and massacres of innocent civilians have recently decreased by 60 to 70 percent, which is an indication of unity between Shia and Sunni Muslims
