TEHRAN -- Iranian actress and UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador Mahtab Keramati elaborated on her recent journey to Lebanon during her visit from the 16th Press Festival on Sunday.
Keramati attended a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassadors gathering in Lebanon on the occasion of 20th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child on October 8.“This year’s motto of Iran was “Listen to the Children” which makes us aware that children need to talk with us and we should pay attention to what they say,” she mentioned.
She went on to say that a short film was made during their meeting in which each of the ambassadors reads their message that will be aired on different TV channels in the near future.
“My last national trip was to Orumieh and I plan to travel to the southern province of Sistan-Baluchestan in the near future,” she said.
Tehran will probably host a future gathering of UNICEF Goodwill Ambassadors but the specific time and place will be announced in the near future, she concluded.
Adopted in 1989, the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child calls on all sectors of society to work together to protect childhood so that young people may grow up to become productive adults.
