Iranian santour player wins prize at World’s Best Musicians competition

TEHRAN-An Iranian musician has won a prize at the second edition of the World’s Best Musicians (WBM) competition.
Pejman Bolourchi has received the first prize in the santour category. He had won the same prize at the first edition of the competition in July, IRNA reported on Sunday.
A highly accomplished composer, Bolourchi is also the esteemed director of the Nahaleh Rudaki Cultural and Art Institute. His extensive body of work includes captivating solos, ensembles, and compositions that have left an indelible mark on the Iranian music scene. He has played santour, a hammered dulcimer of Iranian origins, since he was a child.
World’s Best Musicians is the world’s largest competition for classical musicians. It seeks to identify the most outstanding contemporary musicians and help them in their musical careers. Just being in the final round of the competition, gives musicians a worldwide presence and the chance for promotion, interviews, concerts and further career development.
