Misunderstanding With IAEA Due to Procedural Mix-Up: MP

Chairman of the Majlis Energy Commission Hossein Afarideh said on Sunday that Iran has been accused of violating International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) standards simply because officials were not aware of the proper procedure for reporting the return of fuel.
Afarideh told the Iranian Labor News Agency (ILNA) that Iran was not aware of the process, adding that this had prompted the remarks of IAEA Director Mohamed ElBaradei, who said that Tehran's nuclear activities are ambiguous.
Afarideh stressed that Iran's nuclear programs are only meant to satisfy energy needs, stressing that the Islamic Republic, however, is always ready to cooperate with IAEA inspection missions.
He said the recent remarks by a Russian official to the effect that Moscow will not provide Iran nuclear fuel unless Tehran signs an IAEA additional protocol show that Russia is apparently being pressured by certain powers and is trying to transfer that pressure to Iran.
