Parandehgan (Birds) of Tehran

Their official title is "The Tehran flying Women Committee".

Young girls have chosen this daring sport. Their transports are old pick-up trucks or 4x4 offroaders towards the foothills of the Shahran Mountains above Tehran.

They carry their bulky backbags, clambering to the top of a high ridge, where they unfold their colorful paragliders.

When the wind catches the blowing nylon, they lift their feet and take off. It takes about 10 to 15 minutes to glide down towards the outskirts of the city.

Most of these girls are teens. Their coach is Azar Farahani. Daily problems get very small in comparison to the thrill and the joy they feel. Observing the Landing. Shahran mountains, Tehran
