DAMASCUS, Syria (IRIB) -- Visiting Secretary of Islamic Republic of Iran's National Security Council Ali Larijani on Sunday met and conferred with Hamas Political Bureau chief Khalid Mashaal.

They reviewed the latest developments in Palestine notably the formation of a Palestinian national unity government.

Larijani arrived earlier in the day for a short visit to Syria and met with Syrian President Bashar Assad.

They have reportedly discussed bilateral and regional issues including the crisis in neighboring Iraq, and the situation in Palestine and Lebanon.
