TEHRAN -- A nomadic Bakhtiari music band from northwestern Iran will perform in Paris on June 21, the Persian service of IRNA reported here on Saturday.

International Music Celebration in France is held on June 21 every year and this is the first time a nomadic band represents Iran in the French event.

The 12-strong band from Farsan, Chaharmahal-o Bakhtiari Province, is to give various performances, including music, traditional games, and the traditional play of spring migration of nomads at the open air of place de Fontenoy.

Iran’s Cultural Attaché in Paris, Hojjatollah Ayyubi, said that the band members arrived in Paris on Friday in their traditional costumes, receiving a warm welcome.

The band started its practice last year and the members include Ardeshir Salehpur, Farshid Bozorgnia, Paria Mahmudi, Vahhab Dehqani Farsani, Azam Ershadi, Fatemeh Khosravi, Mehdi Jafari, Hushang Yadollahi, Roya Farajzadeh, Sabz-Ali Khojasteh, and Mahmud Shaluii.
