TEHRAN -- In order to increase non-oil exports, Iran intends to participate in 37 international exhibitions and expositions by the end of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21, 2007), IRNA reported on Saturday.

The Public Relations Office of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI) cited the introduction of Iran’s capabilities in the areas of goods production and technical-engineering services as the goal of this decision.

The exhibitions are to be held in Germany, France, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Malaysia, Greece, Cuba, India, Afghanistan, Jordan, Venezuela, Bangladesh, the United Arab Emirates, Syria, Kenya, South Africa, Hungary, Oman, and Central Asian republics.

Fourteen of these exhibitions are solo exhibitions and the rest are joint exhibitions that will be promoting tourist attractions and displaying medical, cosmetic, and health care equipment, machinery, farming and gardening tools, cattle-breeding equipment, foods, building materials, cars, spare parts, stones, computers, handicrafts, pastries, and chocolate.
