MADRID (Reuters) - Primera Liga newcomers Levante unveiled Brazilian defender Ze Maria on Wednesday after the 33-year-old completed a move from Inter Milan.
Levante, who returned to the top flight after finishing third in the second division last season, said the player had signed a one-year contract with an option to extend the deal for a further 12 months.
Ze Maria is a Brazil international and was part of the side that won the Copa America in 1997 and the Confederations Cup in 2001.
Levante also announced that they have agreed to sign French midfielder Mathieu Berson on a three-year deal from Aston Villa.
Berson, who played on loan at AJ Auxerre last season, is the third Frenchman to join the Valencia-based side in the close season, following defender Frederic Dehu and winger Laurent Robert.
